Red Room

Emily S.

Head Key Teacher

Emily received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University in 2006. She has Minors in Early Childhood Education, Language Arts, and Social Studies. Emily actually was a student teacher in our program in the fall of 2006! Since graduation, Emily has worked with primarily preschool children in Georgia, Minnesota, and Ohio. Emily joined the Key Teaching staff at The Discovery Center in 2015.


Ashley B.

Key Teacher

Ashley graduated from Michigan State University in May 2016 with a degree in Child Development. She has had numerous experiences with children ages 4-10, including the MSU Lab School, other preschool settings, and even serving as a nanny. She joined The Discovery Center right after graduation.


Rebecca K

Key Teacher

Rebecca received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a K-8 Reading Endorsement from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. She completed her Associates in Child Development from Washtenaw Community College. She began teaching at The Discovery Center in May 2017. She is married and has a daughter, Keeley. In her spare time, Rebecca loves to visit family in Kalamazoo and Naperville, Illinois (where she is from). She enjoys reading, spending time with her two dogs and traveling.
